Glamorous Trends for the Holiday Season

Thursday, December 21, 2017

Between Christmas parties and New Year's Eve, you most likely have at least one reason you need to dress up this season. I teamed up with TOBI to bring you the trendiest party pieces for all of your glamorous needs. Did I mention, these pieces are extremely affordable!

I don't know about you, but any chance I get to dress to the nines, show off a little sparkle, and get glam, you can 100 percent count me in. Check out my favorite Holiday trends below.

Shine in Sequins

Did you know sequins instantly spice up any outfit. Whether it's an accessory, a blouse, or a full head-to-toe look, simply adding some sparkle will create a head-turning look. You'll be shining all night long--literally.

My latest obsession? Rose Gold and sparkles. I have been buying everything from jewelry and a Starbucks tumbler cup to a Walt Disney World spirit jersey and Minnie ears in this oh-so-popular hue. So, it's probably not a huge surprise that this look is popping up in my Holiday picks.

When this dress arrived, I noticed it was the exact.same.sequin that is on my Minnie ears. Being the huge Disney Style fan that I am, there was absolutely no doubt these ears would be included in the photoshoot.

You know, there's nothing better than feeling confident and powerful; sequin dresses are a foolproof way to do so.

Queen Elsa vibes. That was my first thought I had when I saw this dress. The icy blue color is perfect for winter, yet it still shows off my love for pastels. I love the flirty A-line silhouette. This is the perfect party dress for showing off my ultra-girly style.

Warm Up in Velvet

To me, Christmas and velvet go hand-in-hand. The fancy fabric has always reminded me of the Holidays, but this year it is extra trendy. Velvet has been seen in almost every clothing and accessory imaginable. Think: sneakers, skirts, and chokers, just to name a few. Thanks to TOBI, it is time to add jumpsuits to the mix!

I have wanted to try out a jumpsuit for quite sometime, but I was never really sure if I could pull it off. When I saw this piece that mixed the two trends I thought, "You know what, who cares if I'm able to pull it off. I like the jumpsuit, so I'm going to try it out." I'm so happy I did.

The velvet piece is extremely comfortable and shows off just the right amount of skin without being too revealing. I love how this piece can be dressed up for a party, or worn for a classy night out with your girls. This jumpsuit is a great addition to my wardrobe, and I can see myself getting quite a bit of use out of it.

Moral of the story? Be daring. Go out of your comfort zone and try new styles. You may just stumble upon a winner like I did.

Thanks to TOBI, we're able to get so many fashion forward, yet affordable looks this Holiday season. What are you waiting for? It's time to get your glam on!

A Polka Dot Filled Dapper Day

Monday, November 20, 2017

A few years ago I learned about Dapper Day and knew I had to attend the stylish day sometime in my life. I'm thrilled to say that I was able to attend the fall 2017 Dapper Day here at Magic Kingdom!

I know, you may be wondering, "What exactly is Dapper Day?" Well, I'm here to give you the inside scoop. Dapper Day is an event that takes place at Disneyland and Disney World two times each year (once in fall then once in spring). Everyone who attends wears vintage inspired outfits, which are often DisneyBound looks, to the park. The event started as a day where guests enjoyed the park dressed like they were from the 1950s when Disneyland opened. Since then, Dapper Day has gained a lot of attention, and is now an exciting fashion event that takes place in The Happiest Place on Earth!

This past Saturday, my two friends and I were dressed to the nines, ready to take on whatever Dapper Day had in store.

I loved seeing all of the beautiful outfits lining Main Street. Let me tell you, some people go all out with their outfits, hair, and makeup, which only inspired me to want to do something bigger for the spring event.

For Dapper Day I DisneyBounded as Minnie Mouse, I mean, it was technically her birthday after all. I purchased my dress from The Dress Shop in Disney Springs. The quality is phenomenal, plus it has pockets--super bonus in my book! When I tried on this dress it fit so well, I instantly fell in love with it. I felt like the style was flattering for my body and I loved the A-line silhouette.

To accessorize, I wore classic Minnie ears and paired the dress with my Minnie Mouse Kate Spade purse. I'm obsessed with this bag; it's so cute!

Check out some more pictures from the day below!

Here's to many more Dapper Days in the future!

The Paolo Sebastian Spring Summer 2018 Collection is a Dream Come True

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Recently, Paul Vasileff, the whimsical Australian designer behind Paolo Sebastian debuted the spring/summer 2018 Couture collection. And you know what the best part was? It was all Disney inspired. Yes! You read that right.

Vasileff, who is known for is fairytale-like designs paid tribute to some of our classic movies we all love. Think: Snow White, Cinderella, and more! Anytime fashion meets Disney, I freak out a tad and get super excited.

When I say this collection is a dream come true, is really is, trust me. It's filled with floral detailing, sparkles, and tulle A-line skirts. Oh, and a whole lot of magic.

Looking at all these pictures makes me feel like I stepped inside of Taylor Swift's "Enchanted" music video. There honestly isn't a garment in this collection that I don't like, it's all so beautiful. I wanted to share a few of my favorite looks with you, so keep scrolling to see which pieces left me breathless.

Make a Statement this Fall with Your Favorite Sweater

Thursday, October 26, 2017

When I think of fall; lattes, sweaters, and pumpkin everything come to mind. I know, pretty basic. If I'm being completely honest you can 100 percent catch me using my pumpkin marshmallow lotion and eating a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin while sipping apple cider. Oh and I'll most likely be doing this while watching Hocus Pocus.

You know something that's not so basic? This season's trendiest sweaters: Statement sweaters. Fall has brought a whole new twist to the classic favorite. If you're not sure where to get your hands on this must-have trend, then look no further, TOBI has you covered all season long.

From laced-up and open backs, to unique dresses and fuzzy fabrics, TOBI's sweaters will give you all the cozy feels while offering a huge array or styles.

Lace It Up

When it comes to fall, I can't help but add a few burgundy pieces into my wardrobe. I love both the color and style of this Cozy Up Wine Sweater. The open, laced-up back is sure to leave a statement. I paired the sweater with a lace bralette. This is such a great trick if you want to add a delicate and girly vibe to a piece like this.

I used the same bralette trick with the Getting Warmer Rose Sweater. This sweater is so soft and before this, I've never seen a sweater like it before!

Wrap Up This Season

I'm sure it's no secret, I absolutely love dresses. When the cooler months roll around, I can't seem to buy anything other than sweaters. I have three plastic bins of them. I know, it's a bit excessive, but I can't help it! When dresses and sweaters collide, you bet that I'll be sporting sweater dresses all season long.

I love how the Not Alone Mauve Wrap Sweater Dress keeps you warm, while adding a subtle touch of sexiness. This dress could be worn both day and night, which makes it a fantastic addition to an woman's wardrobe this season.

This next dress is the Under The Tree Day Dress in plum. I love this one a lot! It gives me so many Rapunzel vibes, which is honestly a main reason why I picked it.

I love how this dress is super comfy, yet it's extremely easy to still look put together. Oh, and the bell sleeves are such a unique detail. Pair this dress with tights and, a scarf, and flats or ankle booties for an unstoppable look this season.

Keep it Cozy

The minute I put this sweater on I instantly felt like a pink fuzzy lamb. The sweater is so soft, it'll be perfect for cold days--that's if Florida ever gets cold enough.

I styled this sweater with an athliesure twist. I wanted to make the look was super comfy, so I paired this amazing pink pile of fuzziness with black leggings and pink Adidas Superstar sneakers.

Maple Holistics Tea Tree Shampoo Review

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

When it comes to shampoo, I'm not one to try out many different products. Once I find a brand that I like, I usually stick to it for a little while, but you know what? Sometimes it's nice to switch things up a little bit.

Recently, I tried Maple Holistics Tea Tree Shampoo. I love how this shampoo is paraben-free, cruelty-free, and sulfate-free. Oh and it's also GMO-free and even gluten free--can you believe that?! There are so many harsh chemicals in beauty products these days, it's nice to have a product that doesn't include all of that. Plus, to top it all off, this shampoo is safe for color treated hair. I'd say there are many bonuses to this.

I've always been a little hesitant to try shampoos that include a lot of oils in them because I was afraid my hair would end up greasy. But let me tell you, that is not the case at all. The main ingredient in this shampoo is tea tree oil, which nourishes your scalp and promotes hair growth because the oil helps unclog hair follicles. The other ingredients in it include, Water, Jojoba Oil, Botanical Keratin, Argan Oil, Lavender Oil and Rosemary Oil. If you're looking to grow your hair long and healthy, this is definitely the way to do it.

When I used the shampoo I noticed it lathers thickly, which makes it feel like the shampoo is moisturizing and cleaning my hair very well. There is also a very strong scent of tea tree oil. I mean, that makes sense and I think it smells really good; it's a bit refreshing!

After shampooing my hair, I continued with my regular hair routine, which included a Pantene conditioner and OGX Coconut Milk serum.

Once my hair was fully dry, I noticed it wasn't as frizzy as it usually is and felt more light weight. It's not like the weather in Florida helps the whole frizz situation either, but the tea tree oil shampoo seemed to.

I would definitely recommend this shampoo, and you can try it out for free! Maple Holisitics has an awesome free sample program, which allows you to pick out a free sample of any of they shampoos. Once you receive the sample, you'll receive information on how to get a full sized shampoo for free!

If you try out this shampoo or any of Maple Holistic's products, let me know in the comments below!

Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 Runway Review

Sunday, September 10, 2017

Back in 2015 when I participated in Teen Vogue's Fashion University, I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon Maxwell. The stylist turned designer launched his first luxury ready-to-wear collection at New York Fashion Week in 2015. It's crazy to think Maxwell's extremely successful line was just in the works when I attended his panel at TVFU.

With the showing of the New York produced collection, it's evident why Maxwell's brand has been so successful season after season. His secret? He makes women feel powerful and beautiful with timeless garments that are extremely flattering for the body. Maxwell truly has his whole heart into this collection, "In the past six months, I've enjoyed my life for the first time as an adult," Maxwell told Vogue Runway.

Maxwell is known for his women's evening ready-to-wear garments. However, this season, more casual and cocktail wear dresses made their way down the runway.

The show opened as Gigi Hadid sported cropped denim pants with a red halter top and light pink blazer. This look embodied Maxwell's goal in a casual way, and this wasn't the only look to do so. Metallic finished cropped jeans with a white button down shirt immediately grabbed my attention. I know, this outfit may sound a little boring, but it definitely isn't one bit. The button down shirt was complete with a train, which added a feminine flair. With an emphasized waist and balance between the cropped jeans and train, this look is very flattering for women.

Color was a running theme throughout the casual looks and evening wear. From light pinks and bold reds, to sunshine yellow and cobalt blue, it's no secret that there will be lots and lots of color this spring. And, remember millennial pink that slammed stores every wear this past spring? It's definitely here to stay.

Maxwell offered options for every women. Brocade pant suits, low-cut hip hugging dresses, and short cocktail dresses were just some of the styles that paraded down the runway. "I wanted to give something that our customer could wear to work, or to her friend's house on the weekend," Maxwell revealed to Vogue Runway.

Since Maxwell's roots are in evening wear, Karlie Kloss closed out the show in a long-sleeved angora sweater and brocade ball-skirt. The monochromatic cream look is one fit for a princess.

In an effort to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, Maxwell auctioned off two tickets for his show, where 100 percent of the proceeds were donated to the cause.

Go, Live Your Dream: A Little Disney Update

Friday, September 8, 2017

It's so hard to put into words what I have experienced these past 3 weeks. Deciding to move down to Florida and participate in the Disney College Program has truly been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I know I haven't been living here for very long, so it probably sounds like I'm jumping to conclusions, but I truly mean it! Anyway, I'm writing this to give you a little update about what exactly I've been doing at Disney.

I'm working here in the Happiest Place on Earth as a Merchandise Cast Member at Disney Springs. I'll admit, I was a little bummed when I found out I wouldn't be in any of the 4 main parks, but I'm loving my location so far! I get to do everything that's included in merchandise: engraving, ear hat stitching, and dessert decorating--I'd say I lucked out. Plus, it's pretty amazing knowing that I help create magical memories for guests that they'll remember forever!

One of the most exciting things I've learned at work so far is making the Mickey and Minnie apples. It's actually really fun to make, and it's so special seeing how excited people get to buy treats that you made!

In addition to my job, I've met so many incredible people from all over the world. Everyone is so kind, and I honestly had no idea it'd be so easy to make friends around here. I'm living with 7 roommates, I know, that's a lot of people, but our apartment is big and we all get a long great, so I really can't complain.

Even though I'm working a lot down in Florida, I make sure to go to the parks on my days off. I feel so lucky that I can hop around to any of the 4 parks--talk about a dream come true. I'd have to say my favorite memory so far is the night from the picture above:

My friends and I decided to go to the Magic Kingdom to watch Happily Ever After as a celebration for our first official day as WDW Cast Members. We watched the show, ate yummy treats at the Confectionary, got a few fast passes for rides, and were able to see Cinderella's castle lit up without anyone in front of it. Oh, and about that yummy treat, the M&M covered rice krispie treats are THE BEST. It was such a perfect night.

I'm really excited to see what's in store for the rest of my program, and I'll keep you updated about my adventures around Disney.

Below I included some of my favorite pictures I've taken so far!
