What I love about the color whisper line is the sheer light-weight coverage these little lipsticks give you. I wear these all year round, but they are especially good for summer! They aren’t heavy/sticky at all and they are perfect for finishing off a natural makeup look, giving you the perfect hint of color! My favorite colors are Pin Up Peach #30 and Pink Possibilities #65.

I have been loving anything coconut scented this summer! This lotion is from Bath and Bodyworks, it embodies the scent perfectly and reminds me of the beach! I like the ultra shea body creams better than the regular lotions because they are much more moisturizing, aren’t stick and leave your skin a lot softer and moisturized longer.

          Hawaiian Tropics Sunscreen:
I originally used this sunscreen at a friend’s house and I think it’s a lot better than your average sunscreen! When you use this sunscreen, say goodbye to that icky sunscreen scent you’re left smelling like the rest of the day. This kind has a nice beachy scent to it. It is basically a sunscreen + lotion in one because it hydrates your skin leaving it soft, while protecting it.

           Chapstick:
Chapstick is a must for me no matter what month it is! I used to use Maybelline’s Baby Lips chapstick, but I wanted to try something a little more cost effective. I found that the original chapstick brand works just as well, even a little better in my opinion! Your lips are left feeling soft for moisturized for hours after use. In the summer time it’s important to use a kind that has SPF 15 or higher in it to protect your lips from the sun, nobody wants sunburnt lips! Try the kind with SPF for maximum protection!

I use this stuff all year round, but it is especially handy in the summer!  Since I have been blessed with lovely oily skin (not fun), this moisturizer is a life saver for me.  This controls my oily skin, while keeping it hydrated, protected from the sun and doesn’t make me breakout, so it’s the best of all the worlds! It is SUPER important to use a facial moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher, but 30 is the best during the summer. The skin is extra gentle on your skin, so you have to take extra care of it and that includes protecting it from the sun!

          L’Oreal Butterfly Mascara:
I don’t like wearing a ton of makeup in the summer, I usually keep it pretty simple and most days I’ll just do a quick swipe of mascara and add a little powder with a lip color. My favorite mascara is L’Oreal’s Butterfly mascara, it does wonders to your eyelashes and really makes your eyes pop! I recently found out that this mascara now comes in a waterproof version which is absolutely perfect for summer!

          Urban Decay Primer Potion,
This is another product I use all year round, but is something I’m very thankful for having in the summer! When I do wear eye shadow in the summer, I always make sure to prime my eyelids first. If I don’t prime my eyelids, I know my eye shadow will crease by the afternoon, not good! The primer potion is my favorite primer I’ve used so far, it does a fantastic job of keeping your eye shadow in place all day long! I know it is a little pricy, but I actually got mine 50% off at Ulta during one of their special promos. The good thing is one tube lasts a very long time, I’m still on my first and have had it since March. I suggest signing up for Ulta’s emails to find out about promos!

Like most, this is another product I used all year round. It’s pretty simple, just your basic pressed powder that gives a light coverage. What’s good about this kind is that fact that it controls oil, so that’s really helpful for me! Since I’m weird and I don’t wear foundation, powder is a must-have for me!

THIS . IS . A . MIRACLE . PRODUCT! I was recently looking for a new anti frizz serum and I really wanted to try something with coconut in it due to all the benefits it has! I came across the brand OGX, read some reviews on it and thought it would be good to try. I was a little skeptical at first since this is an anti-breakage serum, but I found that it eliminates my frizz about 98%, much better than my old serum! This product has a nice coconut smell and leaves my hair frizz free and super soft! I usually use 1 – 1 ½ pumps, but make sure not to use too much or your hair will appear greasy.

I hope you try out some of these products and if you do, let me know how you like them!

A Mini Haul!

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Hey everyone! Over the last week or so I went on a couple shopping trips and I wanted to share with you what I got! I'm not doing this as a way to brag, I simply want to share with you what new products I'm into and have been loving lately. I went to my local mall and got a super cute dress from Forever 21 (I'm a little obsessed) and a military inspired jacket from Macy's that I thought would be perfect for fall and spring! I also went to Target a couple days ago to get some beauty items that I've been wanting to get!

If you couldn't tell by now, I have a little bit of an obsession with floral dresses. I love the burgundy colors in it and I could definitely see myself wearing this A LOT in the fall and pretty much every month. I thought it would be cute if I paired it with my burgundy leather jacket when it gets colder out.

This military inspired jacket by Tommy Hillfiger was definitely a steal! I purchased it for $44 and it was originally $130. I highly recommend checking out Macy's for some great deals. I can't afford designer clothes at their original price, so I love going to Macy's to get some good quality clothes for a fraction of the cost. With all of there sales and coupons they have, it's pretty hard to walk out without a great deal! I'm so excited to style this jacket in the fall and even spring time too!

Above are the items I bought at Target! I've been wanting to try the OGX Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner since the anti-damage serum from this line works wonders for taming my frizzy hair. Compared to the Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner I was using, I like the OGX better! There wasn't a drastic change, but I noticed my hair was slightly less frizzy and a little softer. I have a slight obsession with coconut scented things for the summer and this shampoo has a wonderful coconut scent, so nothing can beat that!

I've been seeing panama hats like the one I got  all over Instagram and Pinterest. When I saw this black wool one at Target I had to get it and I'm SO glad I did. Not only is it great for covering up a bad hair day, but it can step up a basic outfit and make it look spectacular! I thought the hat would work for any season, especially fall and winter time.

I was needing a new medium shade pink nail polish because my other one dried up. This is one I got from the brand China Glaze. It's just your basic pink nail polish and it has worked pretty well so far!

The lip product I bought is Revlon's ColorBurst Lip Butter. I bought this to replace my Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick because it was discontinued *insert lots of crying emojis*. A lip butter is basically a cross between a lip balm and lipstick. I like the formula of it, but the color is a little brighter than I would've hoped for. I purchased it in the color Sorbet. The Color Whisper lipsticks were sheer, but you could build them up. When you apply Revlon's lip butter lightly, it looks how the Color Whisper would if you put on many coats. I would buy this product again, but I might try a different color next time.

How to Fight Frizz This Summer

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

Summer is my favorite season, but with it comes those extra hot, sticky days. Sometimes this can lead to my hair turning into a poofy mess that can be hard to tame. Here are some tips that work really well for me to help fight the frizz in the summer!

1. Don't touch your hair while it's wet
This can be hard to do, but this is a good tip no matter what time of year. Try limiting the amount of times you touch your damp hair after you get out of the shower. The more you touch it, the more frizz will occur.

2. Use a Frizz Serum
This is a life saver for me! Make sure to pick up a serum that uses oils such as, argan oil or coconut oil, I've found they work the best for me! Some really good ones are Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti Frizz Serum, Pantene Pro-V Smooth Hair Serum and OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil. Apply your serum of choice from the mid hair shaft through the ends. Make sure you don't apply more than 1-2 pumps (depending on how much hair you have) so your hair doesn't appear greasy. I use the OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum. I really wanted to try a product with coconut in it because of the amazing benefits! I was a little skeptical to try this because it was anti-breakage, but after reading reviews, I thought I'd give it a try and I am SO glad I did! This is my favorite serum I've used and it leaves my hair frizz free and soft with a nice light coconut scent.

3. Use a Comb After Applying Serum
Most people usually just use their hands to distribute the serum through their hair and assume it's distributed evenly without even using a comb, I'm guilty of doing this too! After you use you hands to put the product in your hair, use a wide tooth comb to comb through your hair to ensure all of the product is evenly distributed. You don't want to miss any spots!

4. Let Your Hair Air Dry
This is a tip I do all year round and you should too, especially in the summer unless you're in a hurry. If I'm not using a round brush, blow drying my hair seems to always lead to excess frizz, no fun! Ditch the blow dryer this season, you'll be left with healthier, less frizzy hair!

Here's to a summer of frizz free, smooth hair! WooHoo!

A Dress For All Seasons?

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Today I wore a black floral print dress, so nothing out of the ordinary. I love how versatile this dress is! I feel like it works for all seasons and makes a lovely transition piece. I can wear it on its own during the warmer months and when it's a little colder out, I love layering it with tights, my favorite pair of riding boots and a denim jacket!
The back on this dress makes it very unique for me, I think it's so neat! The cut out gives off a more summery vibe while the long sleeves make this dress feel like it can belong in my fall/winter wardrobe  too!
I kept my shoes simple like I usually do and just opted for my black ballet flats. I finished the look with a quilted mint purse.

Ravishing Red Carpet looks at the CMT Awards

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Tonight is one of the hottest nights in Nashville....the CMT Awards! I love country music and I'm so excited to see the all of the performances and who ends up winning! So far I think the award show is great, but I'm here to bring you my favorite red carpet looks of the night!

Nikki Reed showed up in this simple yet chic dress! The cut out in the top and the buckle halter top makes this dress extremely interesting, no need for jewelry here! I like how the dress was paired with a simple pair of heels and clutch, this ensures all focus is on the dress. Nikki shows us thats the monochromatic white trend is in full swing for the season!

Hillary embraces her curves in a satin halter dress and looks nothing less than fabulous! Black is a flattering color on everybody, it's always a safe bet when you're stressing out about what to wear.  The deep v-neckline along with Hillary's golden chandelier earrings elongate her face and body. This gives off a slimming illusion. The floral design on the skirt adds a romantic, sweet touch to the dress. Who would want to show up to one of Nashville's biggest nights in a plain black dress anyway? I think this dress was a perfect fit for Hillary, I'm loving how it looks on her!

Cassadee Pope was definitely my favorite look of the night! She arrived in a beaded gold body-con dress. The gold hue of her dress and earrings complement her warm skin and hair extremely well! The beading on this dress is so intricate and I think that makes it look so so beautiful! The cut outs in the center keep the dress a little sexy, but not too revealing. The long sleeves are a good balance to the shorter skirt, giving it a modest touch. When wearing a body-con dress, balance is key. If the skirt is shorter, it looks nice if you have longer sleeves or a higher neckline. The simplicity of Cassadee's makeup and nude strappy heels look perfect with her dress, they're definitely not overpowering. Everything about his just looks so good and I love it a lot!

What were some of your favorite looks from the CMT red carpet?
