I got a sewing machine for Christmas, picked up an easy circle skirt pattern from JoAnnes, started making my skirt then...school got in the way and I couldn't find time to finish it. Over spring break I finally got around to finishing my skirt! I wore it a couple days ago and I really wanted to share it with you! 

There's something about wearing a garment you've made that is so much more special than a store bought item. I can't wait to make more things this summer! 

Summer Trends!

This summer is packed with fashion inspired from the 1970's, lots of denim, lovely white outfits and a mix of your classic gingham!

 

This trend is all about flowy fabrics and letting your inner hippie shine through! I have seen a countless  number of stores with this trend. My favorite aspects of the 1970's trend are the flowy dresses and the lace detail on clothing! If you pair one of the dresses with cute sandals and a coordinating bag or floppy hat, you have yourself a perfect summer outfit, which can be great for a casual day or dressier event! You're bound to find something fitting at every price point. Some stores I've seen with this trend are Macy's, Free People, Hollister, and Forever 21! 

This trend might sound a little obvious, but during the past Spring/Summer fashion weeks, many designers like Burberry, Gucci and Michael Kors had an increase of denim in their collection. Boyfriend jeans and high waisted jeans and shorts have been extremely popular this past year and their popularity is continuing through the summer months! To transition your boyfriend jeans into the warmer weather, ditch your ankle booties and pair them with a wedge, pointed flat or heel. Jean jackets are a staple for spring, summer and even fall! They go with almost every outfit and they're great to wear when it's a little cooler out, find a really nice one like this one at Macy's. I think high waisted jeans and shorts make your outfit look a little classier and interesting. You have endless options for outfits with them. I would definitely grab a pair you don't have any yet! You can find a pair of either of these styles at American Eagle, Charlotte Russe or New York and Company! 

I'm looking forward to trying the all white trend this summer! I think it looks really nice if you add a pop of color, whether it be in your jewelry, purse, shoes or a scarf! You can find white clothing at any store you shop at, but I've specifically seen this trend at American Eagle. They have an abundance of white dresses, shorts, crop tops and skirts, perfect for picking up a few summer staples! 

This pattern is no longer just for your picnic table. Altuzarra, Diane Von Furstenberg and Oscar De La Renta all had this classic pattern incorporated into their Spring/Summer 2015 ready to wear lines. This pattern is very versatile. You can wear it as a dress, skirt, shirt and accessories, basically however you prefer. To find some gingham clothing items go to JCPenney, Macy's or Forever 21!

Outfit Of The Day

I know it's been so so long since I've posted and I'm terribly sorry! It's finally summer break and I plan on blogging a lot more! I thought I'd share with you this outfit I wore today! 

 

I just bought this shirt yesterday and I'm obsessed! It's from Macy's and I'm proud that I got it for a super great deal. I love all of the colors in it and it matches so many things I already own, I can't wait to style it differently! 

I thought I'd keep the color going by pairing the top with a matching blue skater skirt. This outfit it simple, but I love it because all of the attention is on the top and to me, this screams summer!

Is it worth the hype?

Over the last month I've noticed a new trend emerging for spring and summer....PASTEL HAIR! It started when a bunch of celebrities were dying their hair platinum blonde, now I'm seeing pastel hues all over the internet! Stars like Julianne Hough, Hilary Duff, Kylie Jenner and YouTuber Amanda Steele have all been rocking this trend recently! The different colors may look pretty, be unique and a good option if you're looking for a dramatic change, but do you think it's worth all the hype?

To achieve the light color you need to bleach your hair first. This is done with many harsh chemicals that can be extremely damaging to your hair. Bleaching your hair causes your hair to become very dry, weak and dull. It can cause a lot of breakage too. To keep up with the pastel shade, you'll have to repeatedly bleach your roots to obtain the color.

Personally, I wouldn't do this to my hair because: 1. I don't think I can pull if off and 2. I don't want to bleach my hair. If you're dying to be rocking these pastel hues this summer, but don't want to damage your luscious locks then hair chalk is a great alternative! Demi Lovato has said in interviews that she uses hair chalk to achieve her brightly colored, always changing hairstyles.

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry I haven't posted lately, I've gotten so busy with school. I wanted to let you know that I'm part of a lifestyle blog called Musings Mag. I would say blog about what you want and don't make your blog/posts look a certain way just because everyone else's do. It's important to make your blog unique to who you are! Keeping up on posting is important too, you want your followers to keep reading your blog, not forget about it! 

Where do you find inspiration for your posts?

It really depends. I get inspiration from celebrities, seasons changing, holidays and current events in the fashion industry like fashion week or collaborations. My posts are all over the place with topics having to do with fashion and I usually throw in and OOTD to share my personal style.

What is your go to accessory?

Without a doubt, a scarf! You can instantly amp up a t-shirt and jeans look with one. 

When is your favorite time to blog?

Night time! I'm usually busy during the day, so night time is my time for myself to relax. 

Do you admire the styles of any celebrities outside of the fashion industry?

Taylor Swift all the way! I just want to own her entire closet, she always looks very put together and I love that! I really like Selena Gomez's style too! She has an awesome mix of looking trendy and comfy while still looking classy.

What is the best part about blogging?

Getting to share my love for fashion with people and hopefully giving them a little outfit inspo while doing it!

Outfit of the Day: Spring Edition!

Happy first day of spring! I celebrated by getting my free Rita's ice. Spring makes me super happy because that means we have that perfect 70 degree weather, we're one step closer to summer and we can finally break out all our pretty dresses and sandals! Here's what I wore today!
