Paris Please

Saturday, May 31, 2014

Seeing that I'm attempting to create a fashion blog, I thought it would be wrong if I didn't mention my recent trip to Paris!!! I went to Paris last week with the fashion department in my school and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Between eating delicious crepes and macaroons, we visited a fashion school, went to the Louvre and a fashion museum, went to mass at Notre Dame, visited with a fashion designer and learned about fur, went to Versailles, saw a show at Moulin Rouge and did pretty much every tourist thing imaginable plus shopping….LOTS of shopping!
Paris has the cutest cafes and yummiest desserts! Who knew you could order macaroons at McDonalds?! We stumbled across a juice bar while we were lost one day and I'm so glad we did. It's called Vegalia Juice and they have everything from energy juices to hangover juices. The best part is that it's so so so healthy!
I love the culture in Paris so much. People dress nicer and they're more relaxed than people over here in the U.S. The architecture in Paris is superb! I most definitly want to go back to Paris some day and if you haven't, I hope you get the chance to go as well…definitely eat a nutella banana crepe if you do! I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures…it was SO hard to narrow down! Au revoir!

Met Gala 2014!

Friday, May 9, 2014

As some of you might know, the 2014 Met Gala was early this week! While most people were hanging out with friends or doing homework, I was freaking out over all the dresses I saw on Twitter.  They were all so gorgeous! I thought I would just share my top 3 favorites from the night!

1. Selena Gomez

In my opinion, Selena Gomez was the epitome of class as the Met Gala! She may have looked magical, but she's no little girl with a wand anymore! Her look was simple, but I thought it was very sophisticated. I love how the color of this Diane Von Furstenberg dress made her skin radiant. She kept her jewelry minimal by wearing stunning silver dangle earrings. Look at those earrings, why would you not want to show them off?! She used her earrings as well as the neckline of her dress to elongate her face. Even her makeup was flawless. The rosy smokey eye and berry lip was a nice change and I loved it! Great job to Selena, I can't wait to see what you wears next!

2. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift showed off her feminine side in this gorgeous light pink Oscar de la Renta dress. The gold  detailing added an extra  touch to the dress that made it stand out. The best part of the dress….THE BACK!! I was scrolling through twitter and when I saw the back of her dress I actually freaked out! To me, this is the best part of the entire dress. The ruffled bow effect makes this dress the talk of the night! I would definitely wear this dress, it's 100% my style! Taylor didn't even need jewelry to complete her look, the dress was the main focus of the night! Of course, Taylor wore her signature cat eye and red lip! This would have to be in my top 3 favorite looks of Taylor's, it might just be #1!

3. Blake Lively

Last but not least, the stunning Blake Lively! How cute is Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds? They're adorable! She channeled her inner Hollywood glamour in this sparkling Gucci dress. Blake definitely lived up to Serena Van Der Woodson in the gown! The mermaid style showed off her figure nicely while still incorporating the train hanging down from the back.  I think the train on her back is what made Blake stand out. I love the old Hollywood style she had with the waves. Her makeup is fresh and not too over powering. It's a nice soft look, plus I LOVE the lip color! After recently becoming addicted to Gossip Girl I can't wait to see what gowns Blake will be sporting next!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I posted….Wow!! I've been so busy lately, I haven't had much time to post. I know it's late, but here's my outfit from Easter! I love this skirt so so so much, especially the color! I think it's perfect for spring and summer! You can find similar one's that are affordable at stores like Forever 21and Charlotte Russe.

Concert Outfit of the Day!

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

Last week I went to a Demi Lovato concert and it was SO MUCH fun! Surprisingly, I like wearing skirts or dresses to concerts rather than pants or shorts because I think it's more comfortable. Just remember to wear booty shorts underneath if you're not wearing tights! Here's the outfit I wore!

Shirt and Leather skirt from JCPenney. Scarf and black ballet flats from Charlotte Russe. Tights from Forever 21. Headband from icing.
Here's a couple pictures from the concert, I had to add a few!

Who says pastels are just for spring?

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Hey everyone! Here's my outfit I wore from a few days ago. I just got around to posting it today, but I thought I would still share it since I really really liked it! When I wore this outfit it was the day that we got hit with a snowstorm. This outfit was super warm and comfy, perfect for the weather!

Whoever says you can't wear pastel colors in the winter is lying! Most people would usually wear pastels in the spring time, but I love them so much I wear them all year round. You can incorporate these colors into winter garments like I did with my sweater. You can layer a cardigan or blazer over your favorite pastel dress, that's also a great money saving tip! You don't have to buy all new dresses for the winter time, just layer!

Wearing pastel colors in the colder months makes your outfit pop! If you don't want your main garments like your pants, dress or sweater to be pastel, lighten up your outfit with a pastel scarf, headband or various accessories. While everyone is wearing black and darker colors (don't get me wrong, I wear my fair share of black in the winter too) you can stand out by adding pastels to freshen up your outfit!

I'm wearing a super warm over sized cardigan from Forever 21 that I recently bought. My jogger pants are  from Forever 21 too. I love how comfortable these pants are, they're also really soft! The fabric on these pants is lighter, so I'll still be able to wear them in the spring time. They're perfect while we transition from winter to spring!

Spring 2014 Wants!

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Hey everyone! I'm finally on spring break, but it doesn't feel like it at all! We got hit with the snowstorm today, so there is currently A LOT of snow outside and I'm not liking it one bit! I'm really excited for the spring fashion and warm weather (if it ever stops snowing) so I thought I would share with you some items I'll be keeping an eye out for this spring season!

1. Sandals! These are a must have for me throughout the the spring and summer months, I'm constantly wearing them when it's nice outside. They're perfect because you can wear them casually or dress them up. I like them because they're a little more dressier than your basic flip-flops and I love wearing them with dresses! A pair of mine broke last summer so I'm hoping to find a cute pair I can pick up for this year! To find affordable sandals check out Target, Delias, Kmart and JCPenney!

2. White Shorts! These are a staple for everyone no matter what age you are! You can find them in various cuts and lengths so you're bound to find a pair that are perfect for you! I'm in need a new pair of white shorts that fit properly! I found a really great pair at American Eagle that fit extremely well, however, I thought $40.00 was a little pricey for a pair of shorts. I'm going to keep shopping around or wait until they have a sale. You can find less expensive shorts at Macy's, Delias (currently have a sale) or Charlotte Russe, you can find them pretty much anywhere!

3. Cross body bag! I want to get a more structured cross body bag because I like the clean put together look of it. I found this really cute one at Forever 21 for only $19.80, I'm not sure if I want the light brown or mint color though. I think they're perfect for when you're doing activities and you don't want to worry about carrying a purse on your shoulder the whole time. I mainly want to get one for my trip to Paris, but I think it'll come in good use at concerts and just everyday.

4. Last but not least, hair accessories! I mainly want to get some more hair bows…you can't have too many hair bows! I wish I had one in every color to match my outfits. I've noticed flower crowns are becoming popular and I've seen a lot of them in stores recently, so I wouldn't mind adding one or two to my collection of hair accessories! I think both items are really cute ways to add a special touch to your hair! Check out Forever 21 for some really inexpensive bows and floral crowns. I got a hair bow from there and it was only $2.00 and works really well!

What are some items on you're wish list for the upcoming spring/summer seasons?
